Polyvinyl are a Newcastle indie alternative rock band, blending post-punk new-wave energy with theatrical rock music, renowned for their concept-driven live performances.
Since 2022 the band have carved a unique path through the North East scene, blending sonic diversity with theatrical flair – from the award-winning punk/doo-wop fusion of ‘Modern Art People’ (North East Track of the Year) to the profound exploration of grief in their debut EP, “Closure”.
In 2026, a refreshed lineup has sparked their most ambitious era yet. Their sound is bigger and more cinematic than ever before, perfectly setting the stage for their second concept EP (and short film) “Where This Ends”, releasing in May 2026, before a busy festival season.
Polyvinyl’s second EP features production from Lisa Murphy (Lizzie Esau, Melanie Baker), and Lanterns on the Lake’s Paul Gregory (Mercury Prize Nominee), as well as mastering from Kate Tavini (We Are Scientists, Bloc Party).
